Order your conveyancing searches early to avoid delay

As the property market resumes following the gradual lifting of lockdown measures, figures from HM Revenue and Customs have shown that property sales rose by an incredible 15.6% in August.  

While we are all grateful for such a buoyant market place, it brings added pressures for businesses at all stages in the conveyancing process.  

We are currently experiencing unprecedented demands for our searches, both Residential CON29DW and CommercialDW searches, and of course all associated 3rd Party and Local Authority searches.  

Our experienced Customer Service team are working hard to ensure your searches are returned to you as soon as possible and keep you updated when delays occur. Currently we are returning 98.5% CON29DW searches in 5 working days and 97.8% of CommercialDW searches within 10 working days.

Geodesys work with a number of suppliers who produce third party searches including Local Authority searches. Over the past few months, LA’s have been experiencing delays in turnaround times - the national average is now 10 working days with some working to a 30 day turnaround.  

What does this mean for me?

To keep your transaction moving and to assist you in accurately setting your customers’ expectations, it is recommended that you order your pre-completion searches as soon as possible to avoid any delays.
